Valerie Fowler, 34, was arrested for assault and battery with a deadly weapon on Monday after discovering a man inside daughter’s bedroom and shooting him in Paoli, Okl., according to KFOR.
Police responded to a home on Mark Avenue around 7:20 a.m., after getting two 911 calls.
Paoli police chief Michael Lewis told KFOR, “We can say that there was a 16-year-old girl that witnessed the shooting, as well as a young child.”
Larry Rhodes, a Garvin County sheriff, told KFOR they found a 31-year-old man, who has yet to be identified, on the porch of another home. He had gunshot wounds.
“The woman called around 7:20 a.m. to report that she shot a male inside her house,” he added.
After an investigation, police said that the alleged shooting did occur inside Fowler’s house and that they had found a gun.
Rhodes said the man was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fowler’s daughter told police that the man was over three times a week when her mother wasn’t home, according to an arrest affidavit.
Her daughter said that she and the man were kissing in bed when Fowler came in. As he tried to leave, Fowler opened fire. Her daughter told police Fowler shot at the man again as he was leaving through the front door.
